Because olive trees grow extremely slowly, their wood is very tough and very difficult to carve. For the same reason, it is also hard to find wood of good quality. For each ton of wood the workshop buys, only 100 kilos are good enough to be sculpted! Each handicraft in olive wood is totally unique, because of its grain, because of its color...almost life-warranted for it does not warp or crack, and it does not suffer from the passing of time! |
